The debt holders took control of the casino and renamed it LVH, which stood for Las Vegas Hotel. Colony Capital, owner of Las Vegas Hilton in its later years, let the property fall into bankruptcy.
Westgate was originally known as The International when it opened on July 2, 1969. Westgate is the only off-Strip casino that has a stop on the Las Vegas Monorail. It is just north of the Las Vegas Convention Center and immediately behind the former Riviera Casino and Hotel. Westgate is located just east of the Las Vegas Strip.
